Does anyone knows how to decrypt those codes on calipers? I googled, asked in honda-tech, but did not find any answer.
Prelude - 17CL15VN
Legend - 17CL15VN
NSX - 16CL15VN
This code does not tell anything about pistons, because in all 3 calipers they are different. So I guess 17CL refers to fluid capacity. And 15VN refers to rotor size, because all of them are for 282 mm rotor, but on ATR and facelift NSX (both 300mm front) calipers are the same, only carriers are different.
Congratulations to vtecmec for winning May/June's Lude Of The Month, with his DIY Turbo BB1 build.

I too have wondered why the code was the same when I switched to the Legends.
No idea. You could be right on the capacity and disc size??? The discs on the Legend are thicker at 28mm compared to the ludes 23mm, but assume the 282mm part is what is refers to you could be right. It would also explain the NSX ones being 16CL as the pistons are smaller, thus the capacity is smaller???
I doubt if anyone knows the correct answer to that.
I'm also replying over on the other thread on all my Legend knowledge I've posted over the years on PUK.

I believe in this:
17 CL 15 VN
17 => Piston Diamm or maybe pressure surface, but i'm close sure of this:
-17 = 57mm
-16 = 54mm
-15 = 50mm
15 = Disc Diamm
-16 = 300mm
-15 = 282mm
-14 = 262mm
-13 = 242mm
