Steering wheel airbag, can it be removed from the top cover?

Post by Lankysod07 » Fri Sep 02, 2016 10:07 am

Looking to find out if the airbag from the steering wheel on a 5G can be removed from the top cover that has the horns on it, then the cover can be put back onto the steering wheel without the air bag?

Ive had a look at it and can see 4 bolts on the back which makes me think it can be removed?

Anyone done this before?

Kind Regards,

Yes those bolts allow you to pull the airbag out and gain access to the bolt which holds the steering wheel to the car

Just to clarify, what I'm asking Is can the air bag be detected from the front cover. So essentially I can put the fiver back on to the steering wheel to have working horns etc, but without the airbag in?

Cheers in advance.
