4ws not working

Post by harley98vti » Wed Jun 25, 2014 11:23 am

Just bought a 5gen prelude and the 4ws light is on and there is no movement in the rear wheels the previous owner said it hasn't worked for about 4years... Any idea what could have gone wrong or easy way to fix it??????

You can pull the error codes which will let you know what is wrong. I think the're in the Wiki-Lude section linked at the top of the page.

You need to get the fault code from the 4ws ECU by jumping the service connector and that should tell you what the fault is.

IIRC it's not in the 5th gen service manual, because we only have the US manual and they only got ATTS, not 4WS, but there's a 'how to' in the wiki section.

:? I may be wrong about that though :| but have a look

There's also a reset procedure which is a DIY job, but seems to be a bit fiddly/take a few attempts to get it right.

Pull the code before trying any reset though!!!

BTW? Isn't that hardy's avatar too? :?
