Which Tyres

Post by Kawa » Sun Jun 15, 2014 12:08 pm

It's been 6 years since I last brought any tyres for the lude. The last set I brought we're Good Year Eagle F1 GSD3's which are no longer available. What's the current flavour of tyres these days and why do you like yours?

Just get Uniroyal Rainsport 3's & be done with it. They're what I'll be getting in a few months when I need a set. ;)

I had Rainsport 2's on the Gen 3, and they were great. I can only assume that the 3's are as good or better. Decent price as well.

The cheapest you'll find them is HERE. If you can find them cheaper I'd be interested to know! I've done a lot of research. :)

Anyway, that's my preference..and I don't think you'd be disappointed.

Make sure you get the XL rated ones though as they have a stiffer side wall. I have no personal basis for comparison, but I have come across several others saying they are much better round corners, as the standard ones are a bit soft..

All I can say is I was very pleased with my last set, and I will definitely be buying again.

Depends on budget... :)
Neuton NT8000 or Toyo T1R budget prices for midrange tyre ;)
Uniroyal rain sports 2 or 3 - never heard a bad work about them - bit more expensive for my size 205/50/16
Ive never run the Rainsports or Neutons on my lude but have driven other folks 4th gens with these tyres on.
Toyos ive had before and i did like them.
tyretraders is another good web site to look at.

I used to have gsd3, amazing tyre.... I've got cont sport at the moment.. They r fine but not as great as what everyone raves on about. Just get a decent brand and you should be fine... As W1GGS said: Toyo, supposed to be the shizzle...

Yeah, Toyo's are fine..but no better that Rainsports imo (I've owned both) and they don't last as long.

You won't go wrong with either though. Maybe see which you can get cheapest. ;)

Plus, I'm not sure how easily you'll find T1R's anymore. They've been superseded by the not so desirable T1S..

I'm big into the Neutons myself. Now running them on the Volvo too 8-)

t!r is good but is good because of the softer compound. they dont last out as well. thats the compromise.

YOKO Adavan AD08's all the way IMHO. Class A rating in the wet and sexytime in the dry.
6th gen Prelude please Mr Honda. RWD 2.4 turbo lude.
