Today was MOT day, bearing in mind the Prelude has stood for a couple of years I was apprehensive to say the least... I wasn't quite prepared for the news I got though!
Stopped by the garage after work, and they said they had some bad news for me - the car wasn't able to have it's MOT test today

I asked why, and the owner broke the news that my oil filter had gone pop whilst the car was running

My heart sank at this point, knowing that they don't have an MOT bay at the garage I use and that they had to drive the car across town for its test I was really expecting the worst... Amazingly it wasn't on the journey over but whilst the Prelude was idling in the second garage when the filter burst, and the mechanic who had it killed it off before anything untoward occurred (we think!). So my mechanic is chucking a new filter on at his garage tomorrow and fingers crossed we will be good to go for test 2!
My mechanic was well chuffed that the filter chose to let go at the other garage rather than his, so that's something I guess

The Prelude was on the ramp at his when I turned up, and looking underneath we spotted that the ball joint boot on the nearside has let go so that will need sorting presumably - provided it is an OEM arm I have a spare ball joint for that though.
My drop links are on their last legs though and I'm missing a split pin on one castle nut so that's something to sort potentially.
I've got some nasty rust popping up as well - we had a poke at the offside sill and there's a hole there now

Wiggling the plastic skirt makes some unsettling crunchy noises as well. Underneath isn't much better either, there's a lot of orange going on currently
Will be interesting to see what the verdict is tomorrow, I'm expecting a fail but I'm keen to see how much needs replacing, I'm hoping there's nothing too expensive. I'm dropping the Accord Euro-R in with them tomorrow evening as well, that will be MOT'd Thursday
