Today I went to work. Thankfully I left again and am now in the pub. Epic win.

So today I had the afternoon off. I decided to catch up on a little cutting practice.
Recently I took up sword collecting and german longsword as a martial art. Including all medieval weapons platforms eventually. My friends and I are having quite a good laugh with it.
This was before carnage began. Little did they know they were along for a short and violent ride.

Little did my targets know what awaited them

This is my DIY cutting stand. Softwood recommended.

Here is my current collection of worthy weapons.

All from Hanwei forge we have from top down:
Short viking axe
Raptor Nambokucho Zukuri
Tinker Pierce B-astard sword
Rhinelander longsword
Here is Mr Safety because we are not at home to Mr Severed Tendon.

Here are a few sweet cuts.

This is a difficult cut. Coke bottles are a b-astard and to keep the velocity up all the way through was a chuffty moment.

The object is to have the cut effortless to the item being cut. Lightsaber smooth. This double cut was PERFECT. I smiled.
And finally, after much war and spattering of blood (water) I was left with a big piule of tidy up

For the worrits out there, I know you are there, all the swords are legal to buy and own in the UK.

Yeah that was with the katana. You're supposed to go for 45o cuts. Its really fulfilling when you get a really sweet cut:lol:
I have been talking with the local butcher about buying a pig to practice on. I will then cook it in the BBQ.
these items are all made from either 5160 spring steel or 1095 high carbon steel hardened to a rockwell of 54. Cutting off arms and legs is in their design.

No the Nombok is weighted for chopping peasants up (as all samuri swords should be) and is, if anything, a little blade heavy and un weildy when compared. More of a sharp hitting stick than a dynamic tool. That why so much emphasis in the jap arts is on the angle of cut.
The longswords are a different animal altogether. They feel like liquid death in your hand once you're used to their individual harmonics. The katana for chopping up unarmed peasants, the longsword for dealing with motivated combatants. Thats my feeling so far anyway.
