as i said on another post vtec comes in at 4500 in the pickup but it hits the limiter at 7500, the 5th gen i just bought vtec comes in at 5000 but it revs to just past 8000.

if it aint broke don't fix it https://www.facebook.com/pages/tram-roa ... 8502699270

My vtec crossover is at 5250. Motor isn't exactly stock so wont be much help for others; has a full atr head with IM and TB mugen manifold and an evo2 cat back. Was tuned with a decat too.
Was tuned with PAW using a hondata S300

Bennyboy has a similar setup to me and his vtec crossover is at 3800, don't think there's a one size fits all optimum rpm for the crossover. His motor was built and tuned in the same place as mine

Cheers dude, It's silly fun to drive with the extra grunt
Just wish I could have got hold of decent 11:1 pistons when I was doing the build. Benny got 244bhp vs my 228 bhp with the key difference being the pistons
Hey ho, it's all part of stage 2

vtec kick isnt something you are after, compare any graph on a standard v tuned vtec engine and id bet my house on the tuned engine having the vtec point lowered to smooth out the kick
here is an example, yes it an h22 with an exhaust change (also has a standard exhaust line) but it gives you an idea what im meaning
as you can see between 4k and 5k the engine makes very little in power increase, this is mainly due to the inner lobes having reached as good as max potential and once you get to 5k or thereabouts you get the vtec kick you are talking about, on a tuned engine you can see the vtec point has been moved meaning there is a gradual increase in power all the way up now instead of a whack at 5k
now im sorry but im sure from just one graph anyone will agree the tuned with the gradual increase in power is going to beat the standard map with the power in one silly big lump, you also have the added advantage with the lower vtec point of NOT dropping out of vtec so you are constantly staying in the power band
