New Reg New Plates

Post by NafemanNathan » Sun Oct 06, 2013 9:21 pm

Well I'm off on holiday for a week tomorrow :D but by the time I come back the remains of my beloved Aerodeck should no longer be here

In her honour though, the 3rd gen Prelude is now sporting her plates :jdm: ...

what was the reason for the plate change? is it because of the symmetrical 3+3 digit combo?

 No not yet. Whilst I'm away my neighbour's going to take a look at the steering rack/suspension components. I've got a bit of play in the steering column and the front ends feels a little bit clunky/loose, so I want that sorted before I go any lower.

No, it's in memory of the car I killed. What can I say... I feel bad

... And yeah, I prefer the look of a 6 digit plate, it looks personalised and it's still a G reg.

So one of my reasons for not fitting the coilovers yet is because I've been aware that something suspension arm related and my steering rack needs sorting. Not having access to a ramp I've been waiting for my mechanical neighbour to get access to the one they use so they could check it out for me. Anyway on the way to work this morning things started sounding a tad worse, so I turned around and headed home again. I borrowed Stace's car to head back to work again, but I was able to get Dave to make a slot to for checking out the lude this evening being things now sound a little more desperate :?

Anyway, he's just returned with a bit of a list  ...

- Both rear dampeners are shot and aren't really doing anything. Not a biggy as I've got the coilovers.
- Both rear upper arm bushes are also shot. This probably be whole arm replacements.
- Wheel alignment needs doing, which is kind of obvious, but I didn't want to do until after I had the coilovers fitted for obvious reasons.
- And the steering rack is drokked also... Which sadly ain't going to be cheap... As that ain't a job I want to do! :?

So pooh!
