Thuse, I have already done the 'depo' look on the headlights..

I should have done a more darker tone as it's not as obvious as such.

Front bumper support beam mod:
At first I thought it was only my Type-S that didn't have it but I have checked my previous SiR's and they don't have it as well so I am now lead to believe that all JDM 5G don't have the fat front bumper support beam. If you are confused then the part number 8 on the picture below

Maybe the reason that they didn't have then in the JDM 5Gs were because of weight saving, I don;t know. And we also don't have the front damper too (Part number 13).
Last time I had a little knock from a guy who reversed in to me. The bumper support was easily bent and bumper was out of alignment. This made the whole front end look bad. The bumper support was so thin that it could easily be bent with enough pressure from your hands.
So I sourced that part number 8 from a local guy breaking his UKDM Vti and put that on my car. This of course weighs more then the JDM thin support bar but incase you have an accident I think it will protect your car far better. I have got some pictures to show the differences.
First pictures of the car, you can see the front bumper is pushed in near the headlight area and it's sticking out the side.



Here you can see the thin bumper support pushed in and see how thin it is.

Side by side differences:


It bolts on to the car exactly in the same position as the thin JDM bar but there was a small modification you have to do. The sidelights/foglights harness runs along the bar and is connected on the bar it self and after you add the fat UKDM bar you can't really add the harness. So I just cable tied it on. In the UKDM you get the front harmonic damper which you don't really need.

Here is the bumper support beam in place and the alignment of the headlights:



I just need to get the alignment perfectly set by adjusting the side clips and then it should be perfect!
So if you don't have the fat UKDM support bar in your JDM car then I highly recommend that you source one and install it in you car for better protection.

4th gens are the same (jdm's have thinner support bars than ukdm's)
That electrical box on your front bumper is the corner light control unit I think - looks the same as a 4th gen one anyway. So most 5th gen owners wouldn't come across that problem if the did this conversion on theirs

Oh yes! The wires that came out of the harness did run straight in to the corner lights so that's true most of the 5Gs won't have that.. Thanks Wurly!

Good write-up there Nitin. I had the pleasure of replacing my front bumper support a couple of years ago when I had a low speed, front end impact. I also had the option of having the JDM support fitted afterwards but as far as I can tell it simply holds the plastic bumper in place, whereas the UKDM bumper support actually has impact protection built-in. It has a front section which absorbs a fair amount of energy when it is hit and crushed towards the back of the support.
None of my critical components were damaged in my collision but I'm sure I would have sustained radiator and possibly exhaust manifold damage if I had my accident with a JDM bumper support fitted.
