You need that one Merlin. That's what was causing my 3rd gen to overfuel and flood the engine when I first got her. Once replaced it was all right again, so unfortunately you can't sacrifice that.

I can't tell you whether it runs through the ECU or not yet, but it was definitely the source of my major over-fuelling issue and it's the same part number as the 4th gens. Maybe it serves two purposes on the 4rd, but only one on a 4th, but the 3rd has an Engine coolant temp sensor in addition as well.

I suppose there must be a reason to keep it otherwise PAW would have told me to use that, just like being able to use the OEM oil pressure sensor location. If it makes any difference I will be using the P30 with Hondata S300 that PAW tuned for Dino.
At least I have found the wiring diagram for the CEL so I can wire up my shift light

Can't see it sending anything other than a signal to the dash gauge otherwise why would you have one for the ECU as well? If you un plug it you will just lose the dash gauge, if your not bothered about that then give it a go.
Can you not tap the outlet cover somewhere? This was how it was done on my Civic although the outlet might have been a bit more sqaure which would have helped the sealing.

Yeah probably, If your confident about drilling and taping etc then go for the bleed screw but if not then try on the outlet, at least you can get another one easily if things don't go according to plan......Merlin wrote:The top coolant hose outlet might have the same downsides as described for placing it in the top hose. But yeah it is a nice flat surface.

EDIT: On second thoughts there a gauges with built in alarms, so you could lose the gauge sender unit. You should be able to set the alarm for high temp:
