ATR Brake on OEM prelude discs!?

Just had a thought. Do the Prelude caliper spring clips fit correctly in the ATR caliper?

My ATR calipers had the spring clips in place man, so I'm not sure

Fitted my ATR calipers today with great ease and I'm very happy. Was much easier than I thought it would be.

Discovered that the Prelude pad springs are not compatible with the ATR calipers. Checked out my Honda EPC and the part number for the ATR front pad spring is 45227-SL0-013. Checked out Lings and the ridiculous price each is £23.23 - just for a piece of metal! They're not essential and my new brakes are working lovely, so I'm not in a major rush to buy them, especially at Hondas stupid prices.

There are a few so called brake kits on eBay which include pad springs, but none currently listed are for the ATR front axle, so I've messaged those sellers asking if they have any available.

Does anyone here have any suggestions on where else I could get a pair?

Use your epc program to cross-ref that part no. and see what other models have them.

I think you'll find the v6 Accord Coupe might be the same...(still quite rare)

So here's my feedback on ATR calipers for the benefit of @simoncider and others who are considering it:

I'd say it's worth it, especially if you have to replace one or both of your front calipers due to them seizing up or whatever. In normal everyday driving, you can't tell the difference, they feel exactly the same as standard Prelude brakes. However, if you push a little harder, I reckon there is more bite. Obviously, I can't give proper stats on their braking improvements, this may just be placebo, but I do truly reckon the brakes now have more bite when needed. Oh, and they look much sexier too

Quick question, I'm thinking of getting my ATR callipers powder coated in OEM silver colour as they have some surface rust. Or shall I just use a wire brush to clean them up and paint with Halfords calliper paint.?. Which is better option?

you will have to rebuild them with new seals, possibly pistons etc. personally i would just wire brush them, perhaps use so bilt hamber stuff and paint them if they work as they are!

Order Foliatec 2 pac caliper paint. Its tough stuff.
