Just been done a couple of months back by some very trustworthy people ;)

We had another go at adjusting the timing on a few of the ludes today

well he was right - we ran out of adjustment available on the distributor = we managed to get it to about 10 degrees advance so its still got a small amount to go
good news though as it did not a bad job of keeping up with @Merlin track lude

It certianly has more punch. But you could see the 15 degree line but couldnt get there due to the lack of movement left on the distributor.

Indigolemons car benefited from having its timing adjusted too. It was the oposite though, a little too much advance.

That is what I think. If the cam was out of time you would more than likely know about it and the flwheel can only go on one way.

Well I have always set the timing to the white line on the fly, the other marks do not show up with the strobe. If I recall correctly that is what it says in the manual too. 15-15.2 degrees.

go old school to find tdc with a screwdriver in the plug hole just to confirm the marks are correct

@Bri there is a white cross and thats tdc or btdc and then further down there is a 15 degree mark with 15 in red on it and a mark either side of that to show the plus or minus 2 degreees for adjustment. I saw this with my own eyes yesterday both on the flywheel on my car and a a flywheel still attached to @Merlin old H22A2 engine. THe ludes run just fine at the white cross at tdc but run even better at the 15 degree mark.

The disit im using is the right one im nearly 100 percent sure as it came off a running BB4...dont know how id tell if its the wrong one :?
Actually i got it from @newkid so if its wrong one im sure i will get a refund :)

How the fck am I supposed to see that with a strobe and why didn't they just do that in the first place? I will dab a bit of white paint on the other mark then and see how that goes.
