Matt wrote:only slightly weird thing about this is that the seller said it came with a type-s that had been turbo'd. Who turbos an -S? The ATTS cant handle >240bhp.
I hope it is the genuine article though, be nice to see what gains you get with this and all your other bits.

It's arrived!!!
There was a time where I was worried I wasn't going to receive it... I thought the price was almost too good to be true... But alas, I have one complete Type-S head in my possession
There's always a down side to every story though... It was waiting for me on my desk when I got in to work this morning. Obviously it's quite a weight, so when I picked it up and then squatted down to put it on the floor, my trouser's crotch ripped right open!
... I now have a whopping tear from my balls to half way up my ass crack

I managed to pick up a spare gearbox for my build for a mere £50 yesterday. \\:D/
Nice one though - is there any casting numbers on the head to verify as a Type S?
Cheers,
Rob

Yeah, it was about time karma caught up with me
Actually I'd say I got off lightly then... 8-[
Not had a look for any casting numbers yet... Just opened the box for a quick check.
Nice one dude!... LSD?

In fact I even ballsed up slightly and bought an M2F5 - which is the same UKDM box I already have. I wanted a new box anyway to get rid of my 2nd into 3rd gear crunch I have so that's cool, just was after the JDM box for a better final drive gear to make the most of the better acceleration.
I'd love to do a gearbox build with a Mfactory final drive and Kaaz 1.5 LSD but funds don't permit. While the UKDM box doesn't have the higher final drive, which makes it slightly lower to accelerate, it does have identical gear ratios up to 3rd and then better 4th and 5th gear ratios - so would make for a better build base if changing out the final drive. Soooo...I've asked Dino, if he hasn't started his gearbox, whether he wants to do a swap! Cheeky, but beneficial both ways.
All else fails it's still £50 to get rid of the crunch and I can clean it up and paint it before doing the install.
Oh and yes, you still are a jammy git!
You did get off lightly!

Hey, you don't ask, you don't get
Did Marc ever sell his Quaife box on? Or has he still got that? Bet he's wishing he still had it now if he did sell
