225/45....your going to rub like dry sausage on sandpaper.

Try a 215/45 or a 235/40.

I squeezed 9.5j rims alround onto an EP3 with absolutly no rubbing what so ever.

I currently have 215/45 on the front now and it looks too skinny for me, with 235/45 on the back looking too big. Matching tyres all round is what i wanted

Yes you will need a 4WS locking pin to lock off the rear wheels. Some people say that something can be jammed in there instead of a locking pin but it sounds like a complete lash up to me.

So what is the locking pin then if not something that's just jammed in there (to stop it moving about)?

I get what you're saying, it would be easy for a ruhtàde to drokk up and the ones mart sells are a proper job, but the actual bit that locks everything in place is just a pin. Not that hard to get something the right size if you're stuck.

Guaranteed it will. I run 215/45/17 17x8 et30. Rolled and pulled arches, cut whole rear bumper corners mounts off and cut front arch linnings.
Still rub. Only just on bumps.

Ep3s run lower offset so a tad bit more room.

It is not just a pin, It is a pin mounted on the a threaded base. The threaded base not only holds the pin in the 4WS motor but holds the part of the pin that hold the "rack" in place in the exact center. If you don't use the pin not only do you have to find something that is the exact size of the pin but you have to work out a way to not misalign the 4WS rack.

I do take back what i said re rubbing, the fronts are tight with a 215 so i will be sticking with that

Well, the fronts are on and lowered down. The rear however, I HATE LOCKING WHEEL NUTS. The nut it mangled, properly. Only option now is to start drilling in the hope it splits the nuts

So until thats done and i have two new tyres fitted the rear is still sky high.
