So, just changed the ECU for a P13 Spoon chipped variety..and now it's fast! :vtec:

Also spitting some pretty mean flames too by the sounds of things!

However, the engine management light is still coming on. So is this to do with the advance/retard of the dizzy, timing in general, spark plugs, or something more sinister?

Car is running fine, just keeps throwing code 15. :|

A quick search online suggests a couple of people have had intermittent igniters causing this code, might be worth checking yours against a known good one if possible?

Isn't the igniter incorporated in the dizzy though?

This dizzy was working fine on the last Lude it was in. Just seems to be too much of a coincidence that it throws the code just after we'd fitted it.

Or maybe there's something else wrong that caused the last dizzy to fail?

Tried 2 ECU's, so it's not that..

Like I say, the car drives fine though.

Odd. :?

Told you that that ecu would rip  . Yes it is mate, all in one unit. Can be changed tho. Maybe the igniter is good in the old dizzy??? Could try swapping them over when I next see you :x

My dizzy fault turned out to be the top dead position sensor. Car still ran fine though.

It's an inbuilt sensor in the dizzy that checks crank position.

Ahh I see. Might be dodgy then. I'll try an alternative & see if the problem persists. ;)
