My rear fog switch was identical and i did the same. There are only 3 wires to wire in. Very easy.

your correct. Leaving 2 wires from the switch being idle. But i still need to find the wire for the side light illumination. Gordon when i collect the Sun roof ill help wire it up. I used the 4th gen switch as its wire diagram is in the 4th gen UK repair manual
