No prob! I tried to fix my key. Same as you, one of the charger tabs has gone.
And the button has, as usual, gone missing. I fitted a new button but without being charged it's never going to work.
Far too much hassle to repair, and even then it's IR so you have to point the key at the door handle. You might as well put the key in the hole and turn it then!
I had a cheapo aftermarket central locking gadget in before, cost a tenner on EBay, which is easy to install in the door and interface with the lock switch, but a mate of mine had this system surplus so I said why not.
I do like the proximity unlocking, and it has other niceties like when you drive off, the first time you press the brake it locks the doors. When you stop the engine it unlocks them.
And the remote the engine start will be nice when winter comes!
