I have a rear main sensor, but cannot guarantee it works properly
Wouldn't say they are easy to get. You could try a breakers
If you do replace it then FOLLOW THE MANUAL as it will req setting up iirc.

4WS only improves the handling of the car, not make it worse. Unless there's something wrong with your 4WS rack, but then it shouldn't make any difference whether the system has locked out (put the light on) or not.
If your system keeps putting the light on, it does mean there's something wrong with the system.
What fault codes does it give you?
