Well Vtec direct have responded. They say that they still selling there one on the bay of E. However i have sent a reply stating that it is not listed on ebay atm.

And a reply from Scott at h-tune saying they only do the Honda h23 kit. Either that or the Vtec direct manual tensioner which i don't think any one has used!! Jeez.

Well the H23 kit i have used it before and i have used it now and never had any problems with it on my previous BB1 and on the BB6 everything was working fine.
On my point of view i will tell you to use the H23 kit is more easy to find the replacement parts and not having the problem to import or try to locate a performance shop that is selling it.

Right. Going to be ordering a H23 tensioner kit this eve/tomorrow, from H-tune. I need this motor ready to be fitted when i order clutch and flywheel end of march. So will be a build thread update soon

Can I jump in with a hopefully relevant question? 
I need to replace the auto-tensioner and belt on my BB4 - can somebody clarify the problem with the auto-tensioner? I understand they can suddenly fail, but is that only if belt/tensioner changes are neglected? Or are they known to fail inside of their recommended service life? I only ask as my car is only going to be for road use and if the auto-tensioner isn't going to let me down provided I keep to the service schedule then I'm inclined to replace it with another

Auto tensioners are fine for road use - the design has done over 20 years without issue and I have no qualms sticking with them on our 2!

but the AutoTensioner that the H22 engine comes with, is a part that has a limited lifetime goes around for 70,000 - 90,000 km or miles on liftetime, do to its basically compressed liquid what hold the presure to insure the proper tension with out doing anything and because its a mechanical parts has always weak points.
this is pretty much of what i have seen with the AutoTensioner since 1 time i change the timing belt with out knowing that the Autotensioner when is out the the timing belt is hard to put it back in and dosent work that well again
