Yip welcome to my world, they are all over the place down in sunny gwent, even the emergency services are complaining about them but nothing seems to get done. I blame the civic owners for the reason they were installed in the first place

We've past the speed bump phase down here it seems... Recently two of the three small villages I drive through on my way to work are having chicanes put in. All in completely ridiculous places as well. The first one you get to is right on a corner. You can only see that it's clear once you're right up to it and even then you can't hang about going around it otherwise you're going to get mashed on the wrong side of the road. Then if 5 cars in each direction approach the second chicane at the same time the fifth car in each direction prevents the first car from getting around their chicane  The fourth chicane again is on a corner, so you can't hang about.

Honestly a complete TOOL mapped those out! I have no clue how they think they're a good idea anyway... They force cars on to the wrong side of the road and blatantly encourage people to speed up to get around them if they think they can squeeze through before the oncoming car gets there!

pfft, come to cheltenham some time in the last 10 years :( the council put some speed lumps on a road and some guy tore his sump off on one a week later. the council told him to drokk off as his car was lowered and they were made for stock cars. A day later a brand new stock SLK tore its sump off on the same road... did they alter the bumps?

no

that was years ago. Its got worse sine imo. I moved out partly for the roads.

Bradley Stoke is full of them and my Soarer has been slammed so its a rough ride. South Glos have been stupid though as there is a gap between carriageways so the answer is slow down until there is a gap in oncoming traffic and then boot it in to the space in the middle.
I have kleptomania,
But when it gets bad,
I take something for it.

The weird cushion type ones are the worst. You either grind everything going over them normally or you look and feel like a total rhubarb when you go along the middle of the road to avoid them

To may speedbumps near my current location, I put a sticker on the back of my lude to let drivers behind know I need to drive very slow over the bumps :)

F*cking speed bumps! A major pain for mainly no f*cking reason. They put in a few speed bumps round the mother in laws but they made them too tall and a bus broke it drive shaft after getting marooned on top of one. Buses stopped running in that area and about 2 weeks later they lowered the f*uckers instead of removing them :(

Funny you should say that! We didn't have half as many speed bumps down here until the latest batch of 17 year olds got themselves driving licences, 1.5 one wheel drive Civics with no suspension, broadway rear view mirrors, a million stickers, Cheery Bomb exhausts and 45degree camber..
