I wouldn't pay attention to that fella on Facebook Peachy, he presumably just likes to shout people down online to feel like the big man.
I prefer more subtle body mods myself, but at the same time I can appreciate what you've done with your car. And at the end of the day it's your toy, you can do what you like with it so long as it's what you want to do
I say I like subtlety... I did fit a hood scoop to my Golf
Any of the VW scenesters would take a jobby if they saw it

Being of Asian decent, there is a Chavistani part of me that likes that. The other part cringes at the thought. Here's why.
When I was younger, I used to have a Celica ST202. 18 inch rims, a 4.5 inch cannon exhaust either side and a Veilside bodykit. It looked like a vindaloo dinner the morning after. But it was mine and I didn't care what anyone thought. I drove it with a smile on my face. Then, after 6 months of owning the bloody lemon, the radiator blew and the car was sat on my drive looking sorry for itself for a further year.
The birds shat on it so much it resembled an ageing pornstar battling her way through a mass bukake session. You know what, I don't regret owning it because I didn't have to experience the shame in a diseasal or 1.0 litre twatbox that wouldn't have given me the same amount of fun.
