Like 225/45/17 instead if 215/40/17.

A lot if people underestimate how important a tyre wall is to the handling and geometry of the suspension.
Yes, that's why we don't generally recommend 18's on a lude, because you will end up sacrificing too much side wall. But if you don't stick close to stock overall circumferance then that is how you run into rubbing issues. And although only minor adjustments, depending on how far over you go, you will also be driving faster than your speedo indicates and also your brakes won't be as effective.
And you acceleration isn't as good either

yeah i need bigger tyres on my sa3r's the tyres on there were ideal for the dc2 it came off but its playing havoc with the gearing lol it accelerates faster than you can think

Yeah, I used to run DC2 alloys on one of my old ludes and I ran them with the tyres that came with them, which I presume were straight from a DC2. The acceleration was wicked! :D , but top end not so good

no you havnt read my post right newkid lol i said the wheels with the tyres came off a dc2 and the overall circumference was fine for the dc2 but the rolling radius is affecting my gearing so its accelarating faster its mental lol

Blimey!

Well I think my Teg wheels were running 195/45r15's by memory and that's even smaller than what you're running now

Look how small they are! That was lowered 35mm as well!
