All sorted now, front discs fit lovely and calipers are on too. Taken some photos and going to compile all the information into a guide at some point once the car is all sorted.wurlycorner wrote:Or alternatively of you don't want to bend it, you can trim the outer edge off the dust shield.
So did I but seems we were all wrong, just about to upload some pics!Andyjess666 wrote:I thought it was a straightforward fit 4th gen rear discs on a four stud 5th gen ?

I haven't yet, going to have to order some 5G ones if I can, rear discs for the 2.0 are both insanely expensive and very hard to find.Andyjess666 wrote:So how did you get the rear discs on
Here is the difference between the two discs. New 4G on the left and my old 5G one that came off the car on the right. First thing is the retention screws are in different places but that's not a problem as they're not a necessity just nice to have. The main difference is this small ridge as I said earlier. It's right at the base of the disc hub but doesn't exist on the 5G disc, it means the disc doesn't clear the hub on the car. I could try hammering it on?

The problem is they're all so expensive! Only ones Euro do areover £70 for a pair from ADL...looks like I may have to bite the bullet though.Andyjess666 wrote:I wouldnt ,cant you get a refund an get the proper ones ive the same car as you an I get my parts from europarts I use pagid they do the job for me
That is what I suspected but I've emailed them and they're sure it's supposed to be there. I'll get a photo of the hub in the morning but I'm sure they're the same.wurlycorner wrote:Ah a chamfer on the back of the centre bore.
Pretty sure that is meant to be there on a 4g rear disc too, so it may be you have a duff set?
I will check a set next time I'm at the barn...
What does the hub look like in that area, on a 5g?
I haven't seen anyone else do it but the general consensus I got was that all rear brakes were the same from 92 onwards which should mean the only difference in discs would be the fitment.Andyjess666 wrote:So has anyone put 4th gen rear discs on a 5th gen to clear this up
