Sorry, I just don't get what you're saying...
You can't take the reg off the car unless the car is MOT'd. There is no way these cars can be MOT'd (unless you know a bent garage, which are much fewer and further between now and they certainly won't do it for peanuts!).
The registration doesn't give you the tax exempt status, it's the build date of whatever vehicle the car is on that gives you that.
So if you want a running car that's old enough to be tax exempt, you can just go out and buy one that's already a runner or that needs far less work to get it back that way, for way less than what they're asking for these piles of rust!
Or am I really missing something?

None of this covered in a layer of dust and a strand of hay, but otherwise immaculate, low mileage, started on the first turn of the key, but could do with new tyres barn finds

Wurley if you read that advert he says reshelling and says keep the engine sweep the rest up lol then you get the reg
