Only thing I forgot to mention is you don't need to replace the rear hub arms. The bearing assemblies are interchangable between gens, so it's much easier.

All depends bolts and nuts condition. Lower ball joints may be changed for new just to sleep better

2. Which hubs does one go for, simply any Gen5?
Any 5g 5 studs hubs will do
3. Does doing this alter the offset at all, or is that not even a factor?
Not sure but didn't found any issue
4. Will you need to get Gen5 calipers to suit, or will Gen4 ones still fit?
Only discs. Calipers may stay the same. But you can do cheep BBK(for eg. ATR) swap as well
5. Are there any other points to consider (other than Nitin being sexy..Iain.

Nitin isn't sexy. His mega sexi

You will need 5gen ABS sensors as they are differently mounted to the hubs. Wires and connectors are exactly the same. Also outer CV joints are different so they have to be swaped as well. Ideally all driveshafts. They work just fine. In case you have no money for all temporarly you can just put 3mm thick washer under big nut on CV joint. Just remember you will risk wheel bearing damage as the seal which seating on 4th gen driveshafts is smaller then one from 5th and water and dirt can easily go there
Nothing to worry buddy DIYCrunchyAdams82 wrote:I wouldn't be doing it by myself I wouldn't imagine. More likely enlisting help for friendship & favours.4thgenphil wrote:Doing it yourself?![]()

I don't have the skills yet. But I am learning slowly.
You can already find some pics in my profile threat. Also if some more needed I can try to find something
