Other options are...

Polished/White...

Image

Gold...

Image

Milano Red...

Image

Dark Red...

Image

Or Black...

Image

I could be tempted to go black, but being I'd never be able to go back... I think I'll stick with the sparkly grey... For a while at least ;-) ...

Ooh! I do like that bud, very different! I wondered whether you might use it again following your ECU.

I agree with Marc, leave or black. But it's your cover - YOU MUST DECIDE!

I'm still scratching my head how to add the AN fittings to the front of the cover as I'm packed for space at the back. I have loads of pics of them done at the front, but none showing how from the inside! :(

Keep it bud.

 Trust you to remember the ECU lol.

Yeah, I've already decided to keep it as it is for now, and then dependent on how it looks when the engine bay is done, still leave it like that or go for black ;-)

Back entry is the best 8-[ ... for the AN- fittings. That way you're above the baffle plate. If you fit them at the front and don't baffle them, you'll end up loosing a whole lot of oil under heavy braking... I imagine anyway.

I'll take a pic of how I've done mine. I've not got any M6 screws yet to re-attach the baffle plate, so it's no effort.

And keep what bud?... It real? ;-)

(PUK) Valve Cover breathing Mod

Post by NafemanNathan » Tue Feb 07, 2012 4:23 pm

Here you go Rob...

Drilled 11/16" and then tapped 3/4-16SAE (UNF) for AN-8 bulkhead fittings as shown...

Image

Image

Image

As you can see with this one, I broke out of the third wall, but it's no issue and I'll be putting a bead of instant gasket all round before re-attaching the baffle anyway...

Image

Image

I could have raised them slightly to avoid the potential risk of breaking out, and can't really think of a reason why I didn't now come to think of it  , but like I said, there's no issues with how it is now, so I'm not bothered.

Image

And don't worry... I'll be rinsing out all the metal particles before I re-attach the baffle plate to ;-)

(PUK) New Super Advan Racing SA3R Rims

Post by NafemanNathan » Tue Feb 07, 2012 4:24 pm

Woohooo! \:D/ ... Finally! I've got a set of my all time favourite wheels for the lude!!! :D

... Super Advan Racing SA3Rs :D

Fronts 16x7J +35
Rears 16x8J +38

... in 4x114.3 PCD (RARE ;-) )

Image

Image

Image

The condition of the rear wheels is pretty good with no kerbing...

Image

Image

There's a few flakes of paint missing from the fronts...

Image

... And only one area of kerbing on one. Though it looks a lot worse in this picture than it actually is. There's actually no real depth to it when you run your finger over it, so it should clean up well...

Image

Either way I'll be completely stripping them back... Including the Incredibly rare (Rarer than the wheels themselves!) centre caps and refurbing them ;-)

Image

The tyres that came with them are no good as they've been used for drifting...

Image

Image

But they're too big anyway and it's not like I need them just yet anyway :P

Anyway, trial fit this weekend ;-) :D

seems like you attached the AN fitting the complicated way :P

i have seen the welded onto the rocker cover so its just a case of drilling the hole and welding the fitting on with no threaded portion (hehe, portion)

this is more for info for anyone else planning on doing this, just another option

keep it up dude! and you still have let me know where you got that blank from

But I can't weld... I've actually got the weld-on AN- fittings as well (had them before I had the valve cover), but I don't trust any of the aluminium welders I know to do a job I'd be happy enough with and I like to be able to do these kind of things myself anyway ;-) lol.

I didn't know you wanted to know where I got the blank from. Do you mean the PCV Valve blank? It's an NC-17 Hollowtech crank bolt from Chain Reaction Cycles ;-) Wanting to make use of that M20x1.0 tap are we? ;-)

So is that actually your lude in your avatar? I've seen that pic and pics from the same shoot of that black lude with SA3Rs, but I always assumed it was from the US of A or the Netherlands or somewhere
