Had a day off work today, so whilst I had time to spare and inspiration from Nathans door handle removal, I decided to fix a few niggles on my lude.
The issues I had were.
Cold air coming in through the speaker grills when the windows were open slightly.
No fabric covering the speaker grills
Button missing from the drivers side window switch.
Window hitting the speaker magnet as the windows went up and down.
Passenger side puddle light not working.
So firstly I removed the door cards to find the plastic weather sheet was all ripped and torn with bits missing,
so I applied a bead of silicon around where the old sheet should have been, and stuck down a thick, cut to shape carrier bag to it, cutting slits for the wires to poke through, also lifted the speakers out from the plastic cups slightly with spacer and applied silicone around the gap to create a seal around the speakers.
Having the door cards off i tried to remove the drivers door handle to see if the illuminating lock ring was there, but mine didnt look to have that feature..
oh well.
Having the door cards off I decided to look for some fabric to make the grill covers look better and hide the holes. Looking through a bag of rags I found an old grey t'shirt that was nearly the same colour.
Before.

After.

But after lots of stretching of the fabric, it made it a bit lighter. Oh well, its all I had.
I also fixed the puddle light, the contact pin was bent and not in the female side of the connection, so that was an easy fix.

Now i have an auto button for my window.

Grill doesnt look to bad.

AND NO MORE BLOODY COLD RIGHT LEG ON COLD MORNINGS YIPPEEEEEEEEE

it certainly is nice getting the niggles sorted. next on to the bodywork... again.
Due to a quick bodge for the mot, rust is appearing again on the arches.
Also want to paint the spoiler white whilst im at it.

Speaker covers do look great!
Never would have thought a T-shirt would come out so good for that?
