Sid the Trike

Well I went for the inspection today in the snow, and it was all good. Was funny when the inspector came back out after he'd sent the paperwork off, I was sat on the pillion seat, leaning on the back rest, feet up on the fuel tank smoking a fag. He said it actually looked very comfy and relaxed!

So it's all road legal now, just gotta go round to the local office I took the paperwork to, and get my bike tax disc changed for a trike one

Phone call from the DVLA this morning. They're sending me my paperwork back now that all is good.


And a couple of before and after photos. Tried to park it in the same position and get the same camera angle as when I took the very first photos of it.

Yea, I'll be at Japfest on the trike. You'll see me being cheap, and saving fuel by pushing it through the queue if it's anything like it was last year

I have my new rear wheels on, yay!! They're only little 13" wheels, but I love them, and it really makes the handling a lot better, even though the centre stand now catches on speed humps, but that'll be sorted out, most probably by removing it!

And yes, I know, I need to trim those arches down to make them suit the new rear wheels!

They've already been well tested too, by going through a fence (long story, everything's alright though, other than my leg), but first thing I did then was check the wheels were alright, but all that happened was the wheel weights got knocked off, but that was a nice easy fix.

How's filtering on this thing ? It was bad enough on me Dad's Guzzi, with its panniers fitted

Hope there's enough room in that box for a carb and manifold

Haha, no filtering on this for me!! A tad too wide!

Cheers Nath, yea, the wheels are 7J with an offset of -7, so that gives you an idea on how much dish there is.

As for the top box, I may design some boxes to mount onto the luggage rack dog guard thing on each side for added storage, will have to see on that one.

Cheers man. Yea, still got a fair bit more I want to do to it though. I have another set of rear wheels on their way, an old pair of Alleycats, and I'll try a slightly larger tyre on them, see how it goes, find the perfect tyre size for the trike, as it's all a bit of trial and error with finding these things out on trikes.
