Thinking about it again, how much different is this to a dead battery. You jump a dead battery and the car recharges it.

Yeah. but again that earth goes back to the battery negative in order to complete the circuit which runs through the battery (the power source). You're removing the power source by disconnecting it.4thgenphil wrote:to the chassis, all that matters really!NafemanNathan wrote:I'm trying to think what cables are attached to the negative now![]()

surely the alternator is the power source when its running?!NafemanNathan wrote:Yeah. but again that earth goes back to the battery negative in order to complete the circuit which runs through the battery (the power source). That's why I was trying to think of where the second lead on the negative terminal goes. Obviously the alternator tracks back to the battery and that's why the primary circuit is broken, but is there a secondary circuit to keep it alive. With my battery relocation and wire tuck I should really know, but it's messed me all up!4thgenphil wrote:surely the alternator is the power source when its running?!NafemanNathan wrote:Yeah. but again that earth goes back to the battery negative in order to complete the circuit which runs through the battery (the power source).
