I couldnt care less.
IMO dont scrap the contaminated food. Give it to the homeless and YMCA shelters instead. Frack sake there idiots. Dont send it back to be destroyed. Give it to someone who doesnt car what they eat as long as its provides food goods and not crack.

I mean yeah they should have maybe put it on the ingredients but come on! People eat sausages don't they? Next time your out shopping look at the ingredients for a pack of sausages and I bet its something like
40% "meat"
40% rusk
20% water
Have a little read up on mechanically reclaimed meat. That's where your horse meat came from as well btw!
People are kicking off yet a horse rump would cost more than a fillet steak

I don't mind eating horse. But if I paid for beef I'd like to think I'm getting beef. Kind of like if you went to fill your car up with super unleaded, but actually the nozzle was still pumping from the regular tank.
Simple solution to the problem, as previously posted by others, don't buy cheap shitty processed food - go to a decent butchers. Not only are you reducing the risk of getting something you weren't hoping for, you're also supporting small local businesses, not organised criminals. Win-win

i reckon if horse meat was listed in the ingredients on the side of the box for a findus lasagne 9 out of 10 people wouldn't read it any way.
We all know that the meat used in products like these are all the nasty bits but people happily eat it knowing that its full of assholes and nostrils etc but as soon as someone says there is horse meat it it people freak. Im confused....

I am a butcher and I don't eat sausages/faggots/glazed food of any kind. Ever. I know exactly what goes onmercutio wrote:which is why i dont eat sausages from supermarkets i get them from a proper butcher who can tell me whats really in thembristol_bb4 wrote:I really don't see what the problem is! Bedminster they eat their dead there. Only go to a butcher when they have run out of relatives( correction Asda if it can't be done in 2mins in a microwave they are drokked).
Plug for Butchers and farm shops that is where I buy my meat and poultry and I never buy frozen processed jobby.
Yes it costs more but you get what you pay for. I am sorry for those on a low income with a family to feed as they really have little choice(those that care what they put in their mouths anyway!)

I have kleptomania,
But when it gets bad,
I take something for it.

Lol I work in bedminster when I'm needed there, nice shop but horrendous place! Deffo earned its name of freak street!
Merc, ask your butcher what cuts go into his stuff, bet he tells you it's just 'trim'
If it doesn't look like part of an animal, I don't eat it
