OK, so today i thought i would tackle the leak that caused the relay issues. traced it to being the top of the windscreen, turns out water was finding its way in to the cabin through a hole or 2 in the old sealer then running down the inside of the plastic trim that covers the A pillars and on to the electrics. so thats that little job done...

and now another problem.. grrrrr.

driving down the road a car pulls out in front of me at a junction causing me to brake very hard. i heard a huge clunk from the front off side. after waving my fist at the completely blind idiot driver i pulled off and continued on my journey. KNOCK.. CLUNK.. RATTLE. so i limped to my mates garrage and popped it on the ramp. turns out the front upper control arm has jumped from its bushes.

so now for the hunt for some replacement bushes or new arm. any idea where i can get some that will not break the bank.

ebay.

but these are a bit out of my price range. do honda do them?

Did a search on ebay for a new arm earlier, although I imagined you'd already done one. Didn't come up with anything either way. But try MotorFactors in the morning bud. When I got a whole replacement upper arm for my silver lude it was about £70 and Blue Print ;-)

You might be able to from MF mate, bud they usually just sell the whole assembly. The upper ball joint certainly wasn't available on it's own hence the whole upper, which came with the bushes and chassis mounts. Honda could be another option, but might be a longer wait and still a lot of expense. You know what they're like.

after a long day of hunting for a new top arm, i finally bit the bullet and went to Honda.

I tried motor factors and internet companies and phone calls to polly bush suppliers with no available parts.

genuine honda part listed @ £208 INC VAT.

no local stock, so they did a group search and nothing. left my number and went home sad.

about an hour later i got a call back, they had located a new old stock top arm in what they call "dead stock" from a garage in cambridge. and for £80 plus vat, so £100 for a new joint/arm. i cant really grumble.
