I imagine if it's that short, you'll loose a lot of torque whether it's 4-2-1 or 4-1. I'm assuming you'd not be running a silencer either, in which case it'll be ridiculously loud (unbearable).
I'll be running a silencer, no way I couldn't not.. would you say 2.5" will retain more of the torgue??
I'm just thinking ahead for the turbo build, out the rear bumper cannot happen now, having it out of the side as it will cause to much heat in the car when the turbo is on.. Even when it's boxed in... I melted heat wrap on the old supercharged polo
Tricky one. 2.5" definitely for a near standard h22a, but 3" is favoured for turbo'd H22a's.
Your exhaust will be considerably shorter than standard though, so you may still get by with a smaller than 3" exhaust. 2.75" could be a good compromise (which isn't unheard of on turbo applications anyway), you just might be a bit low down on torque whilst you're still running standard though.
I was going for a bunper side exit so iv no need to faf cutting out the boxed in exhaust but as for the exhaust ill be making another for the turbo application but using the same exit,
So what would be best for ner standard h22? Just induction kit the exhaust typr r manifold and hondata
With the turbo build I'm going for a side mount turbo and looking for 350whp with a full motor build
Ahh that's cool then. I'd say 2.5" max for a standard H22a. It's the lack of back pressure that will cause you to loose torque, but hopefully the Hondata will go part way to curing that.
