Cheers mate - all credit must go to the couple that owned this car before me though I was going through the documents this evening and no expense was spared on this car. It has a full service book plus two suplementary service books There's even a Honda vehicle registration card from the 80's in there! Interestingly enough on the registration card it's referred to as an 'Accord GXi', a quick google produces nothing though

Sounded amazing as I drove her along the A27 today, I can't belive how throaty they sound. I guess on older cars they didn't give a jobby about NVH so engine noise didn't matter - that's a big thumbs up in my book

Plans are to keep it completely OEM for the time being However I'm thinking about things like a CAI, exhaust, anything subtle that'll make it a bit more fun really.

Sounds like a great investment if anything else. How much did you part with out of curiosity? I know mine's appreciated in price since I bought it

I want to say keep it as standard, but these things always look better dropped and I can say first hand that dropping mine was the best thing I've done to her. She handled like a complete boat when she was standard... I've never been in a car with so much body-roll before, but now I've dropped her 40mm she's on rails. I'd go so far to say she's on a parr with the lude right now

Just make sure whatever you do swap/change you keep!

And yes, those mats are a rarity indeed

I was thinking about dropping it but couldn't seem to find anywhere that sold springs or shocks for these Accords?? Youre quite right about the body roll - out of interest are the cars fitted with anti roll bars? Mt Golf isnt and suffers from bad body roll. But yeah, would definitely keep any parts I swap out, I've always done this with all my cars Cant wait to get it back from MOT - don't think Ive ever been as excited about a car as I am with this one

Don't go for any cheap ebay springs. I went for H&R, and they're brilliant. I managed to get hold of a set of brand new OEM standard dampeners as well and the ride really is great. Obviously a little bit hard on potholes and bad speedhumps (to be expected), but she really does handle amazingly

Yeah I've been warned well away from the eBay stuff before, I guess you get what you pay for don't you. I'll Google H&R springs, see how much it'll set me back to get a set. It would definitely look better lowered, as the lines of the car are already very low and sleek. Tbh I'd take handling over a softer ride any day The seats in those cars are mega comfy anyway, can't believe how soft they are compared to the seats in my other cars!!

Update on the car: failed it's MOT only on 3 things though, a blown headlight bulb, crap wipers and a small patch of corrosion on the O/S rear sill. Been quoted £80 to get the sill welded which is no problem, so the car is still at my mate's garage. They're starting work after Christmas so hopefully will be on the road by the new year in the mean time, anyone know what bulbs and wipers I need? I stopped by halfrauds but the guide was crap and I've not got easy access to the car.
