The alb light should go own of its own accord. The alb light is a general warning light so if your brake fluid is low, or it needs bleeding, or even if you have a brake light out it will come on (the latter will have the brake light warning as well)

I believe it also comes on if your pads are low.

Try starting the car with the brake pedal pressed, that should do the trick to keep the warning light off (it's your way of telling the car "I know there's a problem, you don't need to remind me")

Normally two of the pads (one front, one back) will have a sensor on it to detect this. I don't think this is the case with our cars, certainly not mine and I changed all my pads the other day.

Cheers for the input guys :)

Spoke to the techs at work today - it is correct for the ALB light to remain on until the brake pedal is depressed. As this is how Honda designed the system, it is not an MOT fail, provided the ALB light clears when the pedal is pressed 8-)

Got the Accord booked in at my local garage for Friday :scaredtoss:

I'm tempted to bleed the brakes, but they said I must use a T bar thingy? They showed it to me and it looks diabolical  Is it not possible to bleed using a spanner, tube and coke bottle? :?
