My house was broken into last night :-(
Banter goes here, and doesn't have to be Lude related

Stanley knife is a good one to use. Hurt like hell if you get cut with one, easy to have one 'lying around' in the house and very unlikely to cause a life threatening injury.

Sorry to hear this mate, hope the lead on the Mercedes works out!
RE battering home intruders, I thought the law was changed recently that meant even if you go ape jobby and paste them you are unlikely to be prosecuted?? I'm just glad I have a dog
for all the nuisiance he is barking and growling at new people coming into 'his' home until I show him they're friendly, it'll be all worth it as he rips the tendons from the legs of a home intruder
dog bite strength ftw!!

Sorry to hear this man. That's why I sleep with a switchblade under my pillow, have done for years. Got a crossbow under my bed as well
Had someone break into my flat years ago and I was still asleep in the flat (they weren't expecting me to be sleeping on the balcony) and I just shot them in the leg with the crossbow. That seemed to do the job nicely, and best bit was, when he tried to charge me with assault with a deadly weapon, the cops just said "well, what do you expect when you break into someone's flat, startle them awake when they're sleeping with a loaded crossbow in their hand?"
I would say the quickest way to find your stuff is just let the word slip to a few people that you're after a cheap PS3 or XBox for a Christmas present, doesn't need to have a box or anything, just be working, and you have cash waiting. If it's anything like my area, you'll find the guys in a matter of days, maybe weeks.
