3rd Gen Accord

Got a car that isn't a Lude? There's no condemnation here. Tell us about it!

That's surprising, as it was mainly the JDM only ones that got the B20 engine in that year. Is yours JDM or European?

The engines are great. My cam'd A20 will keep up with a 1.8 turbo Octavia off the lights up to 60 (that's all we got up to when my mate and I pulled away enthusiastically because we wouldn't want to break the speed limit  )

The power steering is amazingly light as well! I get into other cars now and it's like there's no power steering at all!

This is almost identical to mine

Let me just check I'm not getting my years wrong - what year is 'E' reg?? :?

It's not JDM, it's the Euro model. But yeah the engine is mad, it pulls solidly throughout the rev range like the car isn't there 8-) Can't wait until this car is fully roadworthy so I can see what it can do!

Yeah the power steering is mental, it's lighter than the electric power steering in my 62 plate Jazz

That engine shouldn't be in that car then really

The European 3rd gen Accords had that B20A2 engine, but was in the '89 (G reg) model, and only the EXi. The Japanese model which could have the B20A ran from '86 to '89, and was the Si.

I'm going to have to check the logbook now aren't I

I'm fairly certain it's a GSi. It's nicely decked out at any rate, full electrics, air con, big engine

That'll be an EXi then almost certainly, possibly someone with a bit of money got one that had an early B20 in it.

Check the logbook for the chassis number. If it's a B20A engine from factory, it should say CA3 or CA5 on the chassis number. Then also check the engine number, as you can have the B20A, B20A2 or the B20A8 (the latter is unlikely though)

Does yours have the digital dash in it, or is it analogue dials? If you have a digi dash, I'm gonna steal it!

Nah, Colt Cam'd. It was pistons anyways in the NSX that were done at a NASA facility

It's analogue mate, if it was an 80's digital dash I would probably be sleeping in it tonight

The engine/car combo is definitely a factory spec, it's the GSi model. Basically like the EXi except 16v DOHC rather than 12v SOHC, spoiler & lip kit, sports interior (possibly :? ), and it was only available in red or white. Plus barely any were ever made, over the course of around a year, and practically none survive

Oh yea, the GSi was the sportier version, the EXi was the more luxurious option, so the EXi usually came with the cruise control, electric everything and the A/C. The GSi usually came with the electric options, but not often A/C.

Important question, is it manual or automatic? Nathan and I both forgot to ask that question!! Shame on us.

Yea, the digital dash from the 3rd gen Accords is what the S2000 dash was designed around!!

As for sports interior, the easiest way to test is to see if you can turn the interior into a bed! Take the head rests out the front seats, push the front seats as far forwards as they'll go, and then recline the seat back. If the front seat hits the rear seat so it won't go level, you have sports seats. If the front seat can go level with the back seats and make a bed, you have luxury seats.

I've got electric windows, electric sunroof, electric antennae (spelling :? ), cruise control and air conditioning  best of both worlds

I'm not sure about the seats, will have to check. Here's a bad photo of the drivers side

Which should also answer the transmission question

That dash is pure cool btw, reminds me of the Golf digifiz dash 8-) shame I'll never own either
