I won't be removing the resonator.
It's okay for now. I'll have a look at moving the wires when the weather improves a little.

I wonder - will removing the resonator bypass valve vaccum box and solenoid (the items that sit on the engine mount) help drop the unit more? Just a thought, if you happen to have removed the resonator these parts are just dead weight and can be removed all the way up to the vacuum nipple on the plenum.

And also remove the tin bracket that it sat on. The bracket is just visible under the intake pipework on the pic you posted

The bracket I bent out the way. I'll have a look to see whether I can remove it completely.
I only really need about 10mm clearance.

I had another go at this again today!
I've determined that it sits high because of the height of the filter box. Moving the wires or removing the bits underneath the joint will have no effect.

I've secured the filter box as low down as it'll possibly go but the joining piece still interferes with the bonnet.
I think I can live with it because it doesn't notice too much with the bonnet closed.

My conclusion is that this is a great upgrade from my old Pipercross CAI.
It could just be psychological, but the car does 'feel' less restricted. It sounds a little louder too but not chav loud.
