Anyone ever been Skiing/Snowboarding in Scotland?

It's something I've never done and most people who have go abroad, but what's Scotland like for it?

One word, cold. TBH I havent skied in Scotland in about 15 years or so. When I went I enjoyed it.

it depends on what you're used to - a few of the "resorts" aren't too bad & you could spend a day or two up there without getting too bored, however if the weather's grim - which isn't uncommon - then it's pretty cold!

I stay just outside Glasgow & pop up when the snow's good, only takes a couple of hours, but if you're travelling a long distance to get there i'd check the weather well in advance & hope for a nice clear day or two!

If you're a comoplete beginner it might be worth a trip up to see how you get on before spending £££ on a European holiday where you might not get the full use of the big runs!

Yeah I've not done it before, had a quick look and you can do a 4 hour learner session with hire, pass etc for about £65

Indoor ski places are prob cheaper but I like the idea of being outside

I go up there every year for my ski trip. Usally go to Glencoe or nevis range. When it has the snow its as good as anywhere, but conditions in scotland arnt always perfect mate. I would deffo say go there and give it a go, its a good laugh but just dont expect blue skys with the sun out. Its usally overcast, but i love it still anyway.

There are 5 ski resorts in scotland. Glencoe, Nevis range, The Lecht, Avimoore [canigormn mountain] and Glenshee.

Glenshee is the most extensive and alpine like, over 3 valleys and 4 mountains. The hardest resort is probably Glencoe. If your a berginner avoid the "Flypaper run" mate. The steepest black run in scotland at Glencoe

Nevis range is the most modern located in fort william and has a Gondola to take you up the mountain. Good resort.

Also Avimoore is very good to and the most well known resort. There is a fulncair railway taking you to the top of the mountain. The Slopes here are great fun, think you would like it here!

Last but not least is the Lecht mountain resort. Very gentle slopes and located on more of a giant hill than a mountain tbf. Extremley good and the place to go if you havent skied before or are just learning.

Either way have a fantstic trip if you go up to the mountians in scotland. Really good fun and i love it, go there instead of europe most of the time. Having said that im off sking in france this year, the first time abroad in years, but when i get back will be heading straight up to stay in the new cabins at Glencoe resort. WAhooooo

there are some epic driving roads up in the highlands
ive got a set of old school volkl zebra skis you can borrow if u like

Id do this. Dry ski slopes are pain in the arse (literally) to learn on and are nothing like real snow.
