i also used to run the vredestein tyre on my old lude they were amazing in the wet and dry, when i used to work at the tyre garage we used to have a direct delivery from holland 400 vredesteins a month driven over on a arctic, they cant get them anymore and dont seem to know why. Ive just purchased some 215/45/17 toyo t1rs now

Yeah 215/45/17 here as well. That profile still works well on track. IMO a good all rounder for road & track would be be the Toyo TR1's, very similar tread pattern to the RainSports but a stiffer sidewall. The RainSports are awesome in the wet and the dry but are a bit soft for continual dry track days.

Dont worry about overall tyre diameter. It won't change much. A tyre was is more important if you care for handling. 45 is better. 40 offers very little.

205/50 or 225/45 imo to keep the stock 4" sidewall.

The tyres fitted to my Lude when i bought it had a 5" sidewall

I doubt many of you guys had 14" steel wheels at any point

Cheers ;)
