Removing locking wheel nuts

Got a couple of locking wheel nuts that are knackered and won't come off with the key.
They are the round type with 4 prongs on. I've seen some reverse thread tools but can't really see how they would work on these bolts. Anyone know of any tools or methods to get them off ?

Can't tak it to a garage as car is not drive able at the moment.

I've seen it done with an old socket. Just find one that almost fits over the bolt head and smash it on with a hammer. You'll destroy both the socket and the locking nut but it should come off.

Yeh I've looked through my sockets and I only have a 27 which is to big to fit in the hole or a 24 which is to small. I've ordered a 25/26 hopefully that will get them off.

This car is fighting me with everything

Weld a wheel stud to it and then undo the stud.

how big was your hammer

a lump hammer with a chisel should do the trick

I had this issue when I first got my Lude. Couldn't get close enough to weld anything onto it.

Ended up having to use the hammer, chisel and drill method until there was nothing of the nut left, then thrashed the whole stud out towards the hub (there held in on splines).

Worked for me.

socket method failed. Went and got a new chisel today so will give that another attempt tomorrow

if you can make a groove in the nut that the chisel can sit in, then you should be able to get them off, but you need a nice heavy hammer
