Through eBay and mates rates at a garage I did my Accord's front right upper ball joint for £20, and the lower on the same side for £24. Buying a new wish bone was £35ish and a new hub was about £65 iirc. It's a slightly different wish bone but it's the same method, get a big hammer and a clamp and go hulk on the old ball joint before banging the new one in. Getting the price down that low involved me dicking around removing the wish bone though, a job I now have to repeat on the Prelude this weekend :( this wouldn't be an ideal solution for a daily driver mind.
your gonna need a fecking big hammer to break the weld on it and can you put a link up as to where you can get this wishbone from for £35 please
cheers

I didn't do the hammering myself, got my mate to do it cos I don't own a sturdy work bench or vice  if the Prelude ball joint is fitted the same as my Accord's ball joint then it should hammer out. I don't think it gave my mate any hassle, he always moans after the job if it is and he didn't moan this time

Here's the upper wishbone for my Accord - http://bit.ly/UVTfd5
Probably crap quality but it's cheap!!

The wish bones aren't identical parts but the ball joints seem to be very similar, I have a Prelude one sitting in my kitchen. The only difference seems to be some weird circle spring thing? :?

That sits in a groove on the rubber boot to hold it on. I fitted new balljoints in my wishbones, knock the circlip out, then it's hammer time :D

The prelude was made on the accord platform IIRC.

£84.30 seems to spring I mind but I could be talking jobby! £85 will do :)

The 4th Gen Prelude wishbones look similar to those of a 5th gen Accord, so wouldn't be surprised if the 5th Gen Prelude wishbones are the same as those of my 6th Gen Accord. If you're mass producing 2 cars with double wishbone front suspension at the same time then it'd make send to use one design rather than 2 after all.

I'm really surprised at the price difference between a wishbone for my 6g Accord compared to a 4g Prelude though  I could do both the fronts on the Accord for less money than one side on the lude!

I just had a look on eBay btw, at a glance the 5g lude and 6g accord upper wishbones look the same. Would be interesting to know if they actually are.
