Avoid the 1.6 diesel engine in Mazda's, peugeots etc. Nothing but trouble.

What about MB civics? Pretty sure some of those had D14s in them.

Basically, think of a boring car, it will have cheaper insurance.

The last shape of Mazda 323 is Mega cheap to buy and insure too. Some nice examples out there for very little cash.

One thing that worries me......

Renault Megane 1.4 (shakin that ass style) is group 3 insurance. It's NCAP 5 star as well so as safe as it comes. I just can't bring myself to recommend him a French car, even though that's what he's got already!!

It also has a serious problem with Ignition coils - to the point my mate carries spares in his boot.
