most common failure of a reasonably new clutch is the centre breaking to bits. put in a claim and they will say it was fitted incorectly, bit of wiggle on the box to get it in and thats what puts a strain on that flimsy piece of steel thats snapped in half. warranty on a clutch is not worth a Clubbing Eddy they will always say fitted incorectly.NafemanNathan wrote:Got the receipt?

My buddy who's a brilliant mechanic has taken it back for me to get a replacement under warranty, shall see how it goes! It was after 5 hours driving! :O
And getting the box on was so easy with no wiggles as the engine was on the floor out of the car not strugging with it in situ

motor factors down our way dont like paying on a clutch probably because of the amount of labour involved in the labour claim that goes with it, by the time they pay the labour too what they made on the clutch is all out the window and more. good luck.

Benny, did you angle your rear number plate mounting plate? If so, how? Did you cut it off and re-weld it, or just bend it?

To start with I just bent it upwards then I hit a Speedbump at 30mph (didn't even see it lol) and it fell off as it was a bit rusty then I made some brackets and rebolted it. Real easy to do just fiddly.

Cool. Cheers bud. Think I need to get under mine and have a proper looksee then. Don't think there's any rust under there though and it all looked pretty sturdy.

Even more bad luck for me, new cam shaft required now
This was after somehow the cam belt getting loose and bending 8 exhaust valves and I've lost my job so 2012 officially is my worst year of my life.
