Hopefully you can get the issues sorted easily.....and cheaply.

In the long term, you should really think about turning your offside reverse light into a fog.
It cleans up the rear end nicely. Those bolt on ones always remind me of hemorrhoids (sp).

Some exhaust trims wouldn't go amiss either. Unless you have other plans. :geek:
Possible LOTM in the near future!! :P

Cheers mate :) Yeah at some point I'm going to sort something out for a more OEM looking fog light, only problem is I don't want to lose a reversing light. I had a hanging fog light previously but I just took it off so it didn't look rubbish, with the intention of refitting it for MOT's. It got broken recently though hence the rush for another one! I have exhaust trims too, they were on up until Thursday - I took it in to my mate's garage to get the mid section done, and for some reason he loosened the trims right off. I took them off when I noticed in the petrol station to prevent them getting lost, I just haven't refitted them yet :) Hmm might be a while before LOTM  Still need to fix the damage some kind Sainsbury's patron left behind  She will be restored to her prior beauty at some point soon though :)

Re-MOT'd my car today... Turns out it's a massive jobby heap :(

Failed on:

N/S headlight beam obviously incorrect. The cluster seems to be broken and the bulb is free to move around.
O/S/F upper ball joint - I was aware of this one and had the part to replace it at work, didn't bother getting it done though for obvious reasons
O/S/R brake binding. Can barely turn the rear wheel by hand when the car is in the air. The pad on this wheel is completely worn too.

Advisories:

Brake pads, as above
N/S brake disc has pitting and scoring on it.
Power steering cooler corroded.
Oil leak

It was also pointed out my rad is fubar, my exhaust downpipe has been shittily repaired at some point, and a load of other bum droppings for me to sort.

I'm really drokked off with this car right now, I'd scrap it if it weren't for the fact I love driving it :( I drove 60 miles in the car today and it's so disheartening to get behind the wheel of a car I enjoy driving so much, yet have so much to sort to be able to enjoy it again. Probably be cheaper/easier to sell this one cheap and buy another.

On the plus side I got my Accord back today, along with it's MOT pass. At least I can get my Honda fix still, but mega pissed at my Prelude. I mean ffs my 200K mile Mk2 Golf sailed through it's last MOT, and it's been used and abused by so many owners and not serviced for years unti lI got hold of it.

Rant over  Somebody buy this car off me for spares so I can buy an Aerodeck please

It's not that bad Josh, new pads and discs on the rear and a new headlight and your pretty much there for the cost. A few hours of work and it'll be sorted.

That'll get you the MOT and you can sort the other stuff at your leisure.

Please don't break it.

In agreement with the other lads! I'd hate you to break it when it really just a bit of TLC needed, I'd offer to help with that but you're a bit far away I think :-(

And as said, those really aren't any major failures. And all the info to fix them yourself is on here ;-)

I'm a little puzzled by your rant to be honest - that's hardly anything to sort out.

For a pass you just need to fit the part you already had, sort out a rear binding brake which is practically the most common problem on these cars, and get a used replacement headlight as it sounds like its broke, or a quick fix would be some 2 part epoxy glue stuff to stick back the broken part? :?

I mean this is about a 20 year old car now.

The advisories can be done in more leisurely time, but maybe look at some new discs and pads - an excuse to upgrade!

Man up and sort it out! :vtec:

It looks too good an example not to to be honest.

Cheers guys, I was being a bit of a sulky kebab the other day  I was mainly upset as I really enjoyed driving my Prelude again, so it was a mega disappointment to have it fail and go back to not being able to drive it. I spend all my day driving brand new cars, as well as driving p/x's, and I can honestly say the Prelude is miles ahead of anything I've driven so far, and I really miss it :(

Anyway, I've changed jobs again as my commute is running me into the ground, and I now work about 4 minutes away from home - I'm hoping this means I'll have more time to spend working on the Prelude :) I won't be working weekends anymore which will help the projects along too.

So, plan of action is first to sort the seized rear caliper. I'm hoping it's something stupid like the brake pads rusted in place, but we'll see. Will be a chance to fix a few other niggles too, like the leaky boot, etc. Will get a parts list up soon too in the appropriate place so I can start gathering parts.

Thanks for the support guys :)
