I've got a M2B4 box sitting in the shed for over 2yrs and still not got round to fitting it yet

That'll probably be me too in 2 years. Though as my house is on the market it might be a different shed or garage by then. I don't fancy having to shift it again, it was pretty heavy and an awkward shape to carry (especially when holding it at arms length to prevent it from touching my clothes). If it is not too expensive to get fitted then I'll just take it to a garage as soon as I can to get it out of the way. That gearbox oil doesn't half stink an' all!

It's been an eventful week so far...

I did this yesterday:

Luckily it hasn't dented and the indicator lenses are ok, but the paint flaked off and revealed that the bumper has been replaced with a red one at some point. I am no good at resprays so I wonder how much this is gonna set me back?

On a happy note... I fixed my idle problem. Was staring me in the face really. It was the oil catch can! I should've known, especially after BMCC advised it was rigged up incorrectly in the first place.

I just looked at my oil catch can to see if it was catching anything, and it was - which was apparent by the droplet of oil forming on the bottom of it. This obviously indicated that it wasn't closed tightly enough. The silicone hoses connecting to it looked a bit perished at the ends too, but I didn't have any replacement hoses so I just put back the old hose and removed the catch can completely. Started her up and voila, 800rpm

Anyway, I'm a happy chappy now, except for my bumper scrape - but I can use that as motivation to get the other bodywork issues fixed too.

My old Lude got sold on to a breaker for peanuts, rust got the better of it & I lost the love. I had already bought this new one anyway... I always wanted VTEC.

Had a few teething problems with it but it's getting there.

I hope not, I'm a bit skint. How much roughly would you say this would cost?

I guess it's just a bit of filler, primer & paint. If I knew the paint code for certain I'd buy a rattle can & have a go at it myself seeing as it is such a small area. I'm just not sure if it is T70, D06 or some other variation on Mitsubishi Evo Electric Blue.

might be easier getting another bumper and painting that as the repair cost might outstrip just a paint job the paint thats come off looks like it has flaked in a large piece which might mean its not really well adhered to the old paint and any feathering might just keep flaking back.
get it to a reliable paintshop and see what they say or have a word with ratty

I did consider that but couldn't see any decent bumpers for sale locally and I understand they are a PITA to send as some couriers won't insure them. If I could find one with a spoon or euro bubble front lip attached I'd go for it & kill 2 birds...

I think I'd be happy going with a temporary patch up for now as I want to change the bumper at some point anyway.

In the meantime I've painted the dirty big red area with a touch up stick just so it doesn't stand out so much.

Bought some parts recently. Was on a tight budget due to having a week in Kuşadasi & the impending xmas period, but managed to get some stuff:

10.3mm OBX HT leads - cheers @vanzep
Steering wheel hub & non cruise control stalks (so I can fit my OMP Corsica wheel & relocate CC buttons) - cheers @Dino
Socketed ECU (all ready for my spoon chip) - cheers @Pedrodog66
Carbon Fibre bonnet (with scoop - not my favourite but couldn't resist for £29) - bargain of the century I reckon

So far I've only changed the HT leads (which seems to have increased performance/response) but I will be doing the rest shortly.
