I have the IAB components and full fitting instructions to add IAB function to your P28. Was looking for it for ages for somone on here, but it's been so long, can't remember who it was. If they don't come forward, you interested?

Hey there, sorry been away for a few days.

If you have some time (and then some) to kill, have a little read in my build thread on tuning and a bit at the end about IAB's:

http://www.ludegeneration.co.uk/post1911.html#p1911

I don’t go on to explain what the IAB’s are in my write up, so…
Basically the intake manifold on H22’s (not Accord Type R’s though) all have IAB’s = Intake Air Bypass Valves like the one pictured in my link. The intake is made up of 8 runners, 2 of each go to each of the 4 cylinders. 4 are open runners and the other 4 have IAB’s, which is a sandwich plate that has 4 little plates that can rotate just like your throttle body does. They are closed below something like 4,800rpm and then open up above this to allow for more increase of airflow volume. They were designed into the VTEC system to gain the most power / torque compromise for the VTEC’s high and low cams. Not to say it can’t be improved with other mods and tuning.

So what everyone is saying is with an A8 you have the IAB’s present but the P28 ECU off of a Civic does not have the circuitry to work them. The option is there in the Hondata software but it won’t do anything until you modify the ECU with some extra components and connections. Sounds complicated, but there is only a few things to do – anyone who can solder PCB boards (electrical repairmen) can add them for you.

I had an old ECU (Crome tuned), and bought the IAB components to add, but moved onto the S300 for my Supercharger build now. I did offer them to someone a while back, but couldn’t put my hands on them. Found them the other day!
They’re cheap, I paid £10, so add some postage and they’re yours. Say £13 delivered? It is just a small bag of three or four parts and the instructions, so not a lot.

Let me know if you’re interested.

Cheers,

Rob

Well I'm putting the intake manifold from an atr on my Lude so does that mean I don't need to mod the ecu ?

All sorted then. I'll actually have to put my components up for sale then!
