Either find someone breaking a 5th and get them to rip the metal tabs off and then bond them to your lining with sikaflex
or
pop the clips into the roof lining blob some sikaflex on the bottom and refit the roof lining with something to support the lining until it sets, then next time you remove it the clips should hopefully stay stuck to the roof lining.

I think you need the metal plate to bridge the gap between the roof linning and the metal. And the clips slide into the plastic.

Anyway iv just been out to the car and i still have 1 spare clip and plastic plate. Im going to JBweld the drokk out of it tomorrow once iv put the thinsulate deadening in. That should hold it in.

Yes, so if you bond the clips onto the lining just add a spacer to take up the slack.RattyMcClelland wrote:I think you need the metal plate to bridge the gap between the roof linning and the metal. And the clips slide into the plastic.
But just getting some spare tabs and re-sticking is the best option.

I gave one sensible answer, so thought I'd balance it outnitin_s1 wrote:I think he has had one to many.NafemanNathan wrote:Now that's just being daftjjmartin349571 wrote:Hammer and nails

What's JBweld btw? I need to fix a plastic catch in the boot of my Golf but no plastic cement will bond it strong enough, is this stuff better?
