Just watched your latest video - brilliant stuff! :D

Do you know how modified the DC2 was? It looked quick in a straight line, but you
were matching him in the corners.

Also, did you make your camera mount yourself?

Cheers. I didnt speak to the guy, I dont think it was that heavily modified. Maybe just the loud exhaust. Above 80mph in a straight line I was actually catching him.

An update about my jusdder issue. The judder when braking and crusing above 70 is now gone :D Although now I have judder only when accelerating (a new one!) :evil: :lol:. Accelerating hard give judder but as soon as I lift off the throttle everything is smooth. It wasn't like this untill the passenger drive shaft was replaced. Could it be that the replacement passenger drive shaft has a small bend in it?

Regarding your judder, my inner n/s bearings over-heated on track once due
to lack of grease & one seized causing the mother of all judders on acceleration :shock:

I just replaced the spyder & bearings rather than the whole driveshaft - did you
check the bearings in your replacement?

Also, if you're still running Hawk HP+ front pads, I found these did judder slightly when
braking. DS2500's don't seem to suffer from this.

Yeah when twisting the driveshaft you can feel the bearings in the inner CV joint. Both my original driveshaft bearings were fooked. I personally didnt replace the passenger side, only the driver side, my local garage did the passenger side. I have another track day this Thursday so I'm going to have to run the car as is. I suppose I'll take the passenger side apart after that. I want it sorted for the Sprint I'm doing in October.

I have Hawk HP+ in both my Ludes and have gone thorugh many sets of pads. I dont get brake judder from them.

Track Day 30/08/12 - Judderiffic

30/08/12 - TrackScotland

Format - 2 hour open pit
Cost - £80
Conditions - Perfect. Warm track with cool air


This one was pretty much a non-event for me (now the 4th screwed up track day this year :evil:). I only got 15-20 minutes of "testing" done. My car still had its judder issues but with time to diagnose the problem plus the smooth surface of the track and plenty space, me and Indigolemon was able to track all the problems back to what we think is the passenger inner CV joint. With the car jacked up and rotating the wheel by hand we could hear an audible click and feel a notch at one particular point :evil:


At least I pretty much know where the issue lies now.

Heater Blower Plans

Next up I'm getting my heater blower sorted. Driving home from track the other night was quite cold with no heater :D

Here is what I plan to install. Also posted in case I loose my paper copy. Please excuse my great drawing skills:

I might go for a more simple design through the firewall. It all depends on the space available and if I can easily get acess to sort the heater hose coming from the engine. My current design allows for the hot water shut off valve, good for if I want cold air only.

This system will be so much lighter than the OEM (upwards of 10kg lighter), but at a cost. It's knocking on the door of £300 for all the bits and bobs. I was forced into this through my OEM system leaking.

You should see my diagram for all the AN- fittings to go under my bonnet! :lol: Nothing like a good diagram ;-)

Glad you've finally diagnosed the juddering. Is that from one of the replacement driveshafts then?

2 ideas! also why's there an earth off the switch?

ok here the idea, instead of a switch have you thought about a rotary variable resistor so you can adjust the fan speeds??

also you will probably want to run the switching circuit off an ignition switchable circuit, it'll save you flattening the battery! ;)

Yeah the passenger one. Im not sure if I'll be able to cobble together a working inner CV, I have 2 other inner CV as spairs (one donted by Vanzep).

Earth off the switch for if its a switch with an in built light.

I have thought about a resistor but was going to leave that untill I get the bare bones installed and working ;).

Yeah im planning on taking the relay power direct from the battery and then using an ignition source to run the switch.
