ATR brake upgrade

Post by A1ex » Sat Jan 28, 2012 11:45 am

Hey Guys,

Got some atr brakes sat in the garage which I'm itching to get put on the lude. I have the full hubs but just want to fit calipers & discs. Can anyone give me some pointers? I'm new to the mechanical side of things so it's going to need to be idiot proof

What tools do I need? Is there any modifying to do? Do I need any extra stuff?

Thanks

thought you needed to use EP3 discs? PUK has a few details on it, maybe if you find it you can bring it across! :P

I'm sure Dan used ATR discs when he did his, but when I had a read of the thread it wasn't really a how to. How do I bring the thread across?

If you want the full ATR upgrade you NEED
ATR Calipers and the ATR carriers. THe ATR discs. The pads are the same as the Preludes and EK9, and DC2s.

I got my discs from bremtech. They are great quality. Just replace the Prelude carriers with the ATRS, Bolt the new discs on, bolt the new calipers on, Bleed and abuse.

Ace thanks, I've got all of that lot :D

Just a case of changing this lot then. I might ask Rich if he can do it while it's in for the engine work, I'm sure it'll only take an hour for a pro and I don't think I'll have time to do it before it goes in :?

Has anyone used EBC ultimax pads? Was going to get some new EBC discs and they come with these pads.

You can use the ATR calipers on the Preludes carriers but you will be limited to the Prelude discs.
I have the EBC redstuff pads.

And Nitin yes they should do. Im fitting my brakes in the next week or so, so i can turn the car around ready for its NEW ENGINE so you can try Type S wheels over my brakes.

Actually, OEM 16" wheels fit fine over ATR brakes so Type-S wheels should fit too. 8-)
