, mid 80s a guy in australia chopped 2 end cylinders off a merlin engine and built a 5l v twin bike, when interviewed by the bike mag that was featuring his creation he was asked why a merlin engine, his answer - there lying around all over the place over here

no it doest, he shows this by placing a can of beer on the end of one of the pots while its running, apparently too 150 hours of work just on the crankshaft alone

its now nitro injected and supercharged, going for a land speed record
